Wednesday best bets from Luke & Taggart (09/09)
By SENTrack
David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Sandown & Randwick Kensington in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
SANDOWN
Race 3 | 1. Black Peppermint
Gets back to the 2400m for the first time in a while and that’s a good result. Has been pretty good this prep in better races and they I think have been of what trip he is looking for. Gate works as does the claim with a good young jock. Toe into the ground no dramas and the way he savaged the line last start makes me think today's setup is perfect.
Race 5 | 3. Hydro Rush
Was really good on debut at Bendigo and him and Come Together belted the field and then CT did the same next start. Has handled the wet going so no dramas there and has had four weeks of freshen up after debut. BS stays on and from that gate will push forward and has a better speed map than the fave who is a classier horse but will go back and no doubt short of it's best trip so I am taking Tales Of Time on!
Race 6 | 1. Per Sempre
1000m horse who finds an easier race than last time where he was good but had little luck (same as two back). Toe into the ground if the rain comes more won't hurt. Drawn nicely but he does get back so will need some luck where the inside isn't too bad to be. Think it's been well placed and has fitness over many of these.
RANDWICK KENSINGTON
Race 1 | 1. Gentle Giant
Was pretty good on debut and there is no doubt the step up in trip and the race day experience will both help today. Inside gate means Hippo will be able to just hold the fence and control it at his leisure and being on top of the ground again a big tick as he is a big boy.
Race 4 | 5. Columbus
Race shape was a little against him last start where the winner was on a slow tempo (that horse will also win today) and it made it difficult to run it down. Jmac stays on as do the blinkers and I think the speed today and up in trip will suit this horse immensely. Track conditions work and hitting this fourth up (albeit a little short now in the market) we'll have this horse winning.
Race 6 | 4. Cafe Au Lait
Was pretty good resuming when I backed on the back of a really good prep in Melbourne last time in and I think 2nd will work even better today. Draw nicely to sit on the back of the speed when staying at 1250m and the toe into the ground will be of no concern.

SANDOWN
Race 4 | 11. Gold Chariot
Absolutely demolished them last start coming from last showing a great turn of foot. Defeated Emperor Tzu who came out and won last week and he backs up in this. Goes up a couple of grades here but he’s a horse going forward.
Race 5 | 1. Tales Of Time
Resumes and clearly has ability. Was huge on debut in a G3 and was tipped straight out after his kill at Werribee to win his maiden. Has trialled up enormous for this and should be winning.
Race 6 | 6. Divine Dot
Was huge first up in a much harder race to this. Draws pole to get the perfect run if not lead and should be too good. Jockey and trainer combined Saturday to take out the G1 Moir.
Race 9 | 2. Savitri
Resumes and is ready to go from her trials which have been good. Always races well fresh and she should get the perfect run for Johnny Allen. She should win this as she has bigger fish to fry later on.
RANDWICK KENSINGTON
Race 6 | 4. Cafe Au Lait
Was a beaten favourite when resuming and I think she’s a better galloper second up. Does draw a little sticky in this small field but has JMac on to overcome that.
