The winner of this G3 3yo only at set weights over a mile was the maiden filly Zee Falls that race third wide early and then moved second the outer and was there until being third at the 200m only to dig deep and lead at the 100m. She won by just under a length and recorded her first win in 1:41.80 in what was his first outing at Blacktype level too. The winners and where they are turning for home were second (six-off the inside and a neck from the leader), third (five-off the inside and half a length from the leader), fourth (ten-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), fourth (nine-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), third (ten-off the inside and a neck from the leader), second (five-off the inside and a neck from the leader), led (six-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), second (ten-off the inside and a length from the leader) and ninth (twelve-off the inside and four and a half lengths from the leader). Zee Falls beat a suspect field and the first three home turned in that way with the Australian bred filly Key, the clear favourite, racing fifth the inner then working up fourth between runners midrace and she strode up third turning for home. She reached second at the 200m and 1000m and tried hard but could not outfinish the maiden winner. White Lightning was last and wide before looping around second the outer then took the front and was clear midrace and still held a length lead at the 200m before being headed and third at the 100m. This filly also ran a brave race and fought well to be beaten just over two lengths. Yolo ran on okay from seventh on settling and sixth across the top to be fourth at the 200m and she closed okay to be beaten two and a half lengths. Sir Beets was next home beaten four and a half lengths after settling last early then staying the inner only to be worked off turning for home. Puke Park was next home and beaten over five lengths after leading early then sitting third the inner and being fifth across the top and he was the same at the 200m and 100m. Real Slim Tradie was next home beaten five and half lengths after being eighth and wide midrace and the same turning for home before he ran on a shade. The rest got beaten nine and a half lengths and up to nineteen lengths and were outclassed and never copped the footing either. This was a very dubious strength G3 event and no surprise the first four home were all fillies with the sex allowance of 2kg. Not sure any of these are of a G1 standard but on wet ground like today I suppose anything is possible.
