AFL ticks off Cat's return with potential VFL call-up looming
By Tom Morris
The AFL has given the all clear for Tyson Stengle to return to football whenever Geelong deems him fit enough to do so.
Stengle had been under the league’s medical model as he dealt with personal issues.
He returned to Victoria from South Australia two weeks ago, and came back to training last week.
He’s considered a reasonable chance to play VFL football next weekend.
The small forward has been given the tick of approval to play and all that’s left is for the 27-year-old to build up his fitness base.
Since joining the Cats in 2022, Stengle has featured in 93 games, booting 150 goals as an important member of the side's forward half.
Stengle played a major role in Geelong's 2022 premiership triumph, earning an All-Australian blazer in his debut season under Chris Scott.
